The Editrix Opinion Pages

BiasedBitchy Bilingual

Different from my blog Roncesvalles, these pages do not just contain thematically classified and thus easily retrievable information, which I consider worth not to be confined to the bilges of a standard diary-type blog. A lot of the information here has no place there in the first place.

These pages are an eclectic mixture of things I have written myself, of things I have taken from the web (and duly credited) and things friends of mine have written, and all of which I have grouped according to my interests.

My goal is to promote my own writing (of course) and to supply and to bundle information, which is not, or at least not in this format, otherwise available in the Internet.

90 percent or more of the content is in English, however, you will find the odd piece in German. This is because it is either some of my older writing or such extraordinarily brilliant stuff by others that I HAD to put it up here. I am always planning to translate it, but hardly ever find the time.

As with my Links, my goal is to feature writers and websites that are not known all among the Internet community anyway, but who and which, at least so I think, deserve wider recognition.

The blog is relational, i.e. those entries, which cover more than one topic, appear under every applicable leitmotif.

My native language is German. This is not exactly a cross-cultural effort, but I do hope that some English speakers will read my stuff and like what I write from a discerning patriotic point of view.

And for those who don't like it: Toughsky shitsky! One can't please everybody.

A German man carries a banner with a picture of Bush as Hitler during a 2003 demonstration against the Iraq war in Leipzig. Bush-bashing is something of a national sport in Germany.

The banner says:
"The blood track of the USA:
Extinction of the Indians
Kuba
VietnamLaos
Grenada"

Quote of the day:

04.04.2007
The amnesty [of the kidnapped British soldiers] surely wasn't his [Ahmadinedjad's] will, but that of his adversaries who obviously managed to rein him in and thus to avert an imminent danger from the the country.
Bahman Nirumand (70), perennial German media darling of Iranian descent

By Dave Rich

"…the war in Iraq was devised and executed by pro-Israeli, mainly Jewish, neo-conservative lobbyists in Washington D.C. ... This idea … has been discussed at length in the mainstream media, and is accepted as fact by many in the anti-war movement."

"Billions of people around the world saw the picture of three white New York City firemen ... raising the American flag at Ground Zero on September 11 ...

However ... there was a problem with the photograph: Too many white faces."

Women Who Wed the Wrong Wahahabi

 By Ilana Mercer

"Why didn't the women now entombed in Saudi Arabia case the country before moving there? A trip to the library is all it takes to find out about the dismal status of women in Saudi society...
A responsible woman doesn't tether the future of her children to such a place."
